This is a great starting point for Mt. Kilimanjaro and the parks of the Northern Circuit. Regular flights from Europe make Arusha readily accessible. Within two hours of landing one can be in the beautiful parks of Tarangire and Lake Manyara. A little further on is the famous Ngorongoro Crater which is a MUST on the way to the vast Serengeti Park. Close to the airport is the Arusha National Park and the beautiful Momella Lakes. Arusha is home to many hotels offering the perfect relaxation before or after your tour. The market reflects the diversity of culture found in its 150,000 population. From the town there are wonderful views of the green hills and mountains Surrounding this interesting town. |

Lake Manyara National Park |

Situated between the Serengeti and Lake Manyara is the Olduvai Gorge which is well worth a visit. The remains of a 2 million year old man were found here by Louise and Mary Leakey in 1959. Nearby is Gibbs Farm which has a beautiful garden and here one can learn how coffee is grown and produced. At the small local museum Masai artifacts and jewellery can be purchased. |
